JOB PURPOSE
The Crew Commander directs and participates in firefighting operations, CFT driving , Domestic fire tender operations ,optimum equipment operations activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
(ARFF watch Tower log book & Vehicle response register)
•To complete scheduled preventive maintenance as well as coordinate for break-down maintenance of ARFF appliances & equipments.
(Vehicle serviceability as per ARFF )
•To conduct the practical Training and Physical fitness training for the crew as per the schedule.
( Training records . ,Rating performance of shift personnel.)
•To carry out statutory performance test of Crash Fire Tenders, Domestic Fire Tender and Command Control Post as per the schedule.

•To properly maintain the vehicle log books, Vehicle refueling records, training registers, Handing over/taking over registers.

•To exhibit leadership and to act as a mentor to develop the fire appliance crew.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Additional Details
To test and ensure proper functioning of ARFF watch tower equipment’s and communications systems.
To monitor aircraft movements in maneuvering area, initiate necessary actions and coordinate with concerned emergency response agencies as per Aerodrome Emergency Plan and Standard Operating Procedures in case of any emergency situation for effective incident management.
To perform the role of crew Commander during the aircraft accidents/incidents i.e.to be the team leader of the rescue team and to work unsupervised and make decisions when under pressure and during emergency situations involving aircraft emergencies, till the arrival of Sub Commander.
To assume the command and control for effective management of the emergency situation involving airside buildings and other facilities in the airport till the arrival of State Fire Service and to support them in Fire Fighting Operation on their arrival.
To maintain liaison with Air Traffic Control, Airport Operations Control Centre, Airside Operations, Security Operations Control Centre and Goa State Disaster Response Cell & Goa Fire & Emergency Service for day to day smooth operations, necessary clearances and obtaining changes in critical airfield information.

•M/s Anlon for coordinating maintenance of Crash Fire Tenders
•Airport Authority of India controllers for testing of Radio Telephony & Vehicle Transponders
•To carry out joint inspection of Airside Crash Gates along with Central Industrial Security Force
INTERNAL INTERACTIONS
Technical services for coordinating maintenance of Domestic Fire Tenders, Command Control Vehicle & Fire Fighting / Rescue equipment
Information Technology department of GGIAL for maintenance of Radio Telephony equipment.

- Should be able to lead and guide the Shift personnel (LFF and FF) team to attain the Objective.
- Should be able to infuse discipline and motivation among the team members for effective accomplishment of task
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
ï§ Graduation
ï§ Certification in First Aid from St Johns Ambulance
ï§ Basic Fire Fighting Course from ICAO recognized Institute. (Desirable)
ï§ Certification in Train the Trainer Rosenbauer CFT driving and operation.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Min. 15 years of continuous experience in Aviation / Industrial Fire Services out of which 5 years should be in supervisory grade preferably in ARFF Operations/Fire Prevention.
Should possess good communication, report writing and firefighting and rescue training skills.
Good proficiency in Firefighting strategy and tactics.
