JOB PURPOSE
To develop master plans of the Manohar International Airport for further expansion of airport facilities to meet the growing traffic demands; in a phased manner. The master plan and development plans are to be based on modern airport technologies which ensure safety, high operating efficiencies, and quick turn-around of the aircraft. The Terminal Planning is to be based on state-of-art technologies resulting in high service levels and enhances passenger experience. The Master planning activities includes all the areas of the Airport such as Airfield, Runway/Taxiways, Apron, Terminal Building, Landside facilities/ buildings, Roads, Utility blocks, Commercial land parcels etc. The scope also includes master planning activities for the surrounding connectivity roads outside the Airport in coordination with related Government / Statutory authorities.
Objective shall be to ensure that all the development works at the airport are carried out in an orderly manner so that the roadmap for master plan development is not infringed and future development not jeopardized for short term gains.

Drawing up plans for improving/ expanding the existing airside infrastructure. It is done by rationalizing the taxiways (addition of new taxiways/rapid exits) in a manner that the runway occupancy time on all runways is reduced as per ICAO/IATA recommendations. The taxiing distances to be optimized; resulting in for shorter taxiing route, improving apron efficiency by in-depth analysis. |
To ensure compliance with ICAO standards & recommended practices and DGCA (CAR). To ensure that development do not infringe master plan provisions. |
Terminal capacity expansion planning after in-depth analysis of peak hour passenger traffic, types of processors, no. of processors, throughput survey, passenger profile survey, no. of baggage per passenger and baggage handling system analysis. Introduction of new technologies in passenger terminal for optimization of capacity and enhancement in passenger experience. The terminal has to have flexibility to adopt new technologies, easy to modify or upgrading retail and F&B concept, signage and way findings. |

Support commercial Aero departments in providing inputs for developing/ finalizing plans for expansion of : i) Cargo, ii) Flight Kitchen, iii) Fuel farm, iv) MRO, v) GSE, vi) Short term revenue generation from existing assets, vii) General Aviation activities, and any other revenue generating infra projects. |
Ensure compliance with Concession Agreement and compliances with all applicable standards. |

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS
Not a direct cost center, but indirectly, this function monitors and effectively controls the entire airport master planning and development planning for all development works to be carried out by various other departments of GGIAL at the airport.

One Engineer/ Designer to assist. (requirement to be assessed as per the work load depending on Airport development plans)
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- B.E Civil/Architecture.
- Sound knowledge of ICAO Standards & Recommended practices, ICAO Aerodrome & Service Manuals, IATA Guidelines ADRM, DGCA – CAR, FAA Advisory Circulars, NBC, BIS Standards.
- Use of software for A-CADD, Path Planner, Tools for Simulation Techniques, Spread Sheet Models, Queuing Theory Application
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
At least 10 years in the field of proven / hands on experience on Airport Master Planning & Airport/ Facilities Design.
