JOB PURPOSE

Monitor operation and maintenance of power transmission and distribution system of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in order to ensure system availability.

Responsible for developing and implementing Preventive, Predictive, and Reliability Centered Maintenance Programs, risk-based inspections, and maintenance work processes to improve the equipment reliability. Develops maintenance programs and work schedules to maximize equipment reliability and minimize equipment “downtime.” Root cause and gap analysis and use of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Responsible for managing the maintenance and repair of all Airport specialized systems (BHS, Screening - X-ray machines, explosive detectors). Responsible for directing and overseeing the activities of all Maintenance, system in charges, maintenance contractors and special projects.

Develops maintenance programs including and work schedules to maximize equipment reliability and minimize equipment “downtime.” Reviews the operation of equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.                System Availability in %
Operations & Maintenance, contractor Management
Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, contractor performance etc. Initiates, implements, and manages the maintenance program based on best practices in the Aviation sector, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance. Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary. Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.           PPM compliance, No.of break down and corrective maintenance.
Fiscal responsibilities
Operations and maintenance budget requirement, Capital budget needs for equipment replacement and technology improvements; maintenance services from outside sources; assures that all activities operate within designated budget, plans; recommends, and assists department's annual operating plan.       AOP adherence

Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) /Special Projects
Ongoing series of small or large-scale improvements which are each done discretely for improving system performance, energy and cost saving. Includes of design, estimation, business case, vendor selection, project execution and commissioning. Speciala ssignments/projects are given time to time by the senior management like ISO certification , Airport service Quality ,British Safety council etc.,

Management Information System
Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems. Monitoring the effective utilization of computerized maintenance management system SAP usage and daily reports

Safety, Health & environment compliance , regulatory and legal requirement compliance
Manages and assures the team adheres to governmental regulations and laws and is in compliance with fire, safety, environment and insurance inspections. Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the team; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance staff. ----Compliance

Interact with CISF, Immigration, Custom’s, Retailers, Airlines staff etc. to understand their requirements and to resolve if any technical issues.

Interaction with seniors and junior managers for seeking advice in daily maintenance activities.

Interact with Procurement and contracts department for purchasing consumables, measuring equipments, PPM and other AMC contracts. Other contract negotiation issues.

Interact with HR department for labour issues at facility and other manpower issues

Interact with Accounts department for Billing, raising debit notes, providing payment certifications etc.

Interact with ARFF department on technical aspects to adhere with statutory requirements.
