JOB PURPOSE

The Tax Executive will be responsible for preparation and submission of GST filings and for tracking of enterprise-wide compliance requirements

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accountabilities
Operations:
    Prepare Rule 37 Report twice a month and share with business on 5th and 21st of every month.
    Responsible for reconciling GSTR2B with Purchase register for assigned companies, share unmatched entries with CoE Lead and share with Procurement team and track resolution.
    Prepare working file for GST Returns for assigned sectors/companies
    Post approval of working files, generate Tax Challans and share Tax Challans with Payment Team for timely processing of tax payments.
    Verify necessary accounting entries are passed by Payment Team.
    Support GST return preparation and submission of Returns approved by Business
    Support preparation of monthly Compliance status dashboard for onward submission to GMR Leadership.
    Stay abreast of all changes in tax structure.
    Ensure adherence to statutory and legal requirements
    Prepare data sought for Audit, Assessment and Litigation - working files, download invoice copies, ledger extract etc. and share with CoE Compliance Head for review.  Share data with Central CoE team after validation and approval by CoE Head- Compliance.
    Display good team player skills
    Ensure a ‘customer centric’ and ‘partnership approach’ to develop strong relationships with other working groups
    Effective communication of issues across the CoE and working groups
    Provide quality service with agreed service standards
Governance:
    Be responsible for project management and proactively keeping track of outstanding actions, discussing them with stakeholders to complete pending actions
    Manage time efficiently to ensure multiple assignments can be delivered efficiently
Ad hoc activities
    Participate in other ad-hoc activities assigned by Team Lead or Management requirements

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

    Min. 3+ years work experience with min. 1+ years work experience in Accounts & Commercial (Finance) in an CoE set up 
    Knowledge and experience in GST filing
    Expertise in Indirect taxes
    Proficient in using GST tools
