JOB PURPOSE

This position delivers direct tax processes including but not limited to TDS, Tax filing, Tax-related report preparation, supporting tax legal disputes, internal and external audits & compliance tracking. Would also be responsible for ensuring and monitoring the tax compliance, providing strategic inputs, review of assessment replies and coordinate with Business teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Operations:

Accountable for various compliances such as monitoring TDS monthly payments, advance tax, review of TDS returns, review of Income Tax returns, Review of SFT returns etc. related to corporate sector.

Assisting the DT Head in monitoring the tax compliances and notices.

Monitoring and assisting group teams and business teams in TDS compliances

Review of assessment replies related to corporate sector

Preparation of appeal papers, written submissions and arguments to be filed before the appellate authorities related to corporate sector.

Review taxation publications, decisions & rulings, new and proposed legislation and tax reform measures and assesses application and implications on the corporate sector.

Providing advise on direct taxation matter to corporate sector.

Governance

Assisting the DT Head in:

Ensuring all direct compliances on monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual basis are on-time and without any delay for corporate sector

Adhering to processes, SLAs and RASCI.

Timely escalations

Assisting DT COE Head in preparing MISs

  • Cadence of Governance meetings held during the review period
  • Aged and Open observation
  • Accuracy and timeliness of Query response
  • Preparing and updating MIS on regular basis.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Additional Details

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Auditors & Tax & legal consultants

Interactions and closure of open points with external consultants with respect to Corporate sector

Support in legal clarifications required and maintain the response time

Tax Department

Appearance before the Tax Authorities from time to time.

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Stake holders/ Business User Team

1nd level of escalation point for Business users

Overall accountable for all tax related queries raised by corporate sector teams

Internal SSC/Business Team

Reach out to SSC/Business team members for quick resolution of open issues & escalations

GMR IT

Discussions with IT for implementation of updates and changes in Taxation in SAP/ERP tools

Taxation/Secretarial

Provide responses to queries raised by to internal/external stakeholders

Penalty cost incurred due to delayed compliances

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree / Master's degree in Commerce

Chartered Accountant Inter qualified

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

1 to 2 years of experience in Direct Taxation
