JOB PURPOSE

Lead the Airport Operation Control Center at GHIAL on duty in shift in order to ensure error free resource allocation (Bays/ Gates, Belts, Check-in-counters, Visual Docking Guidance System) as well as effective information dissemination to all concerned stakeholders to have optimum resource utilization.

Administrative control of Airport Operation Control Center within the shift period.

 

 

Assume the responsibility of Head Of The Department in absence of Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Associate General Manager-Operations

 

 

Ensure error free Terminal and Airside resource allocation with an objective to optimize the resource usage.

 

85% domestic Air Bridge  utilization

95% International Air Bridge utilization

No delay due Infrastructure

Ensure Safety standards are maintained at all times during the shift.

 

Adherence to Safety score

Activates Incident Management Centre and acts as Chief Operating Officer Representative in his absence during emergencies/ contingencies.

 

IMC to be manned within 05 minutes.

Ensure a good rapport with stake holder during the shift to achieve seamless operational efficiency.

 

 

Chair Sunrise meeting and coordinate with the entire department for data collation and compilation to prepare Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Operation status report for higher management.

 

Ensure that the report is ready by 0800 hrs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Proactively assess any operational challenges in the dynamic environment and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders and appropriate action to tide over the issue.

 

Ensure that on pro rata basis number of complaint from the stakeholder/ airline is less than 5% at all times.

Activate fall back procedure in case of any critical system breakdown/ prolonged outage viz Universal Flight Information System, Radar, Airfield Ground Lighting, Baggage Handling System, Runway etc.

 

Ensure that the back up system gets activated within 05 minutes and stabilizes within 20 minutes.

Ensure that there is no negative impact on revenue while allocating real time resources.

 

 

Verify the accuracy of Mayfly and Airport Operational Database.

 

 

In charge of the Cash collected in Airport Operation Control Center and its proper handover to Finance.

 

The morning shift Manager should ensure that the cash is deposited to Finance & Accounts  within 48 hrs, except in exceptional circumstance which need to be justified.

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

•Air Traffic Control: In case of emergencies, Bay allocations, Ad-hoc movements, Implementing Low Visibility Take off Procedure (LVTP).
•Airlines: for resources allocation/ Changes
•Central Industrial Security Force: For handling emergencies
•Immigration /Customs : in case of international flight diversions and also to control queue of passengers in the terminal

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Terminal Operations for handling emergencies, queue, Belt allocations.
Protocol :For handling of Very Very Inportant Persons movements
Security: for informing external security agencies for handling emergencies, Ad-hoc movements
Technical Services: for reporting un serviceability inside the PTB and on the Apron Side
Airside Operations: Handling of emergencies, Baggage handling, Follow me services, Low Visibility Take off Procedure implementation
Airport Rescue And Fire Fighting: For implementing Low Visibility Take off Procedure and handling of emergencies
Finance And Accounts: For handing over cash/ cheques collected from General Aviation.

•Total of 05 staff in a shift directly and indirectly staff of stakeholders.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

•Person preferably from Science background with an MBA degree is desirable
•Additional Technical Degree would be added advantage.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

•Minimum 08 years of relevant Aviation Experience. Preferably in Airport Operation Control Center of an airport or from Operation Control Center of an airline working at supervisory level.
