JOB PURPOSE

The Shift Head AOCC leads real-time airport operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth coordination of airside, terminal, and landside activities. The role manages operational disruptions, oversees resource allocation, and facilitates decision-making in collaboration with airlines, ATC, and ground service providers. The role requires dynamic problem-solving, crisis management, and adherence to safety and regulatory protocols while optimizing operational efficiency and passenger flow.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accountabilities KPI
Managing Allocation of Airport Resources:      On time performance 
    Review and reallocate optimum slots
    Optimum utilization of assests including slots, Stands, Counters and belts
 
Allocation of Parking Stands:      OMDA compliance w.r.t PBB
Coordination with ATC-WSO     Closure of all operational requirements such as shifting/towing of aircraft, any emergency, NOTAM, approvals for Non-schedule flights
Preventive maintenance schedule:      Planning with Zero impact on operations.
Actioning XOVIS alerts:     Queue management at entry gates, security gates, Check-in counter via CCTV.
    OMDA Compliance
 
Emergency handling (Bomb threat, Fire strategy, Aircraft Hijack)       Efficient and timely notifications & management/leadership of events
Stakeholder Management  (IMD, General Aviation, NSOP, Environment, VIP Flight movement, Social Media)     Zero outstanding issues
Monitoring of overall operation which includes Cityside, Terminal, Airside for anomalies and alert teams on the ground to effectively mitigate the anomalies     Avoid operational disruption

Budget Planning
•    Contribute to OPEX & CAPEX planning to ensure cost-effective operations.

Crisis Management & Business Continuity Planning
•    Ensure timely action for any emergencies at the airport as laid down in the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP), Bomb Threat Contingency Plan (BTCP), Fire Strategy Plan and Aircraft Hijack Plan during shift duties.  
•    Manage real-time notification and coordination of emergency events with management/leadership.
•    Ensure timely notification of adverse weather condition warning (Low Visibility Procedures (LVP), thunderstorm etc.) to all the airlines, ground handlers, non-scheduled operators.
•    Ensure monsoon preparedness, emergency drills, fog preparations, and effective response during adverse weather conditions.

Multi stakeholder coordination
•    Coordination with ATC-WSO ensuring closure of all operational requirements such as shifting/towing of aircraft, emergency handling, NOTAM, non-scheduled flights approvals.
•    Coordinate with Shift level GHA, Airline, aviation services team regarding non-compliant flights on Arrival Baggage performance and prepare action taken report.
•    Liaise with station/duty managers for delayed flights (OTP), take action and give inputs to Shift Head for Operations Report.
•    Liaise with airlines station managers/duty managers for getting the revised departure time.
    Timely coordination and closure of X% operational requirements
Passenger Processes
•    Anticipate & coordinate with stakeholders for ‘Change in operation plan’ to take actions impacting passenger processes.
•    Monitor the Customer Service Officers (DIAL) stationed at AOCC ensuring the staff availability.
•    Develop scripts for ad hoc announcements, ensuring timely deployment in coordination with the Terminal Head and IT team.
•    Execute actions based on the ‘24-hour planning' of operations. Monitor operational changes in the LIVE environment impacting '24-hour plan' alerting respective teams for necessary action.

Maintenance Operations & Technology Monitoring
•    Monitor preventive maintenance schedule to ensure zero operational impact.
•    Manage XOVIS alerts for queue management at entry gates, security checkpoints, and check-in counters.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Aviation, Airport Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Additional certifications in Airport/Airline Operations, ATC, or IATA/ACI courses are advantageous

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of experience in airport operations, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within an AOCC
