JOB PURPOSE

Support / Assist in Implementation of Safety Management system and Ensuring compliance of all Safety requirements in Airport construction sites with zero Accidents and Incidents.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Support in Implementation of the Safety and Health Policy, Standard Working Procedure and Safety Plan at site.
  • Preparation of Check lists, Daily/Weekly reports and updates on weekly progress review meetings for safety plans, Hazard Identification & Risk assessment for new projects for providing inputs to the manager.
  • Support in documenting Implementation of OSHAS 18001 (Occupational, Health & safety) Management Systems.
  • Support implementation of Operational Safety management Systems.
  • Safety Policy, Plans, Objectives and Aims.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment sheets &check lists
  • Safety Statistics / Incident Rate / Frequency rate.
  • Nonconformance reports

 

  • Support in providing Safety Training to all levels of employees and workers of subcontractors.
  • Support in Promoting safety awareness to employees and workers for prevention of injury and damage to property.
  • Support in certifying the Personal Protective equipment for both internal and external staff members.

 

  • Training Records and awareness campaigns photographs
  • Inspection report

 

  • Inspect and test all safety system adopted at site and provide inspection report including corrective action required if any in consultation with the contractor and the site in charge.
  • Check scaffoldings, high-rise platform used for construction and erection of equipment and materials and certify / clearance for use.
  • Inspection report and
  • Corrective action taken report

 

  • To monitor daily activities & site inspections and report generation & record keeping.
  • Support in incident inspection, root cause analysis and evidence collection
  • Documentation of site safety committee meetings and site safety co-ordination meetings.

 

  • Daily/Weekly Reports
  • Site review meeting minutes and follow ups

 

  • Complying legal requirements and other statutory requirements.           
  • Support in implementation of any Audit system requirements from time to time ( any recognized certifications)
  • Safety formats / Audit observations  and findings
  • Non – conformance Reports

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

•Client & Stake holders, Consultants, Contractors, Environment experts, PCB, Lead Auditors, Equipment vendors and all government agencies (Mining, Electrical, Revenue & Environment departments) & CISF.

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

User departments, Cross functional teams like ARFF, TOPS, AOCC & Operations Safety members, Senior management etc.

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

•Project cost of approx. 200 Cr

OTHER DIMENSIONS

•Airside works contract : around 800-900 labor
•Terminal works : around 2000 labor
•Ramp works : around 600-700 labor

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelors degree in engineering
•Safety certifications from NICMAR, NEBOSH, IOSH etc.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

•4-6 years of experience in the construction industry preferable from Heavy engineering industry, Public Utility buildings, Oil refineries, Power plants etc. with minimum of 2 years as safety officer.
