JOB PURPOSE

To take prompt and swift actions to mobilize ARFF resources during Aircraft Accident/ Incident, structural fires, other fires and incidents related to public health at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in accordance with Aerodrome Emergency Plan, Standard Operating Procedures and coordinate with Air Traffic Control, Incident Commander, Command Post and Airport Operations Control Centre for effective incident management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

To test and ensure proper functioning of ARFF watch tower equipments and communications systems.

To monitor aircraft movements in maneuvering area, initiate necessary actions and coordinate with concerned emergency response agencies as per Aerodrome Emergency Plan and Standard Operating Procedures in case of any emergency situation involving aircrafts, buildings, and other critical facilities at RGIA for effective incident management.

To obtain report from Manager- ARFF Operations/ Lead Firefighter Operations with regard to serviceability of all ARFF appliances and initiate defect rectification with concerned agencies and maintain the records.

To maintain liaison with Air Traffic Control, Airport Operations Control Centre, Airside Operations , Technical Services, IT&C , CISF-Security Operations Control Centre, Airport Medical Center, Airlines  and Telengana State Disaster Response & Fire Service for day to day smooth operations, necessary clearances and obtaining changes in critical airfield information.

To maintain records of  ARFF vehicular movements, aircraft incident/ accident, fuel spillage, structural fires and other incidents occurring within the jurisdiction of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport for the purpose of evidence and audits by the regulatory and certification authorities.

To monitor the Building Management System console and CCTV system and to take necessary actions in case of any abnormality is noticed.

To take necessary actions to mobilize additional requirement of resources including manpower during emergencies/accident as per direction of Incident Commander.

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

  • CISF: For opening of gates during emergencies on priority, coordination during emergencies, integration test of terminal building & joint crash gates inspection.
  • Delhi Fire Service: For coordination and assistance during Airport emergencies
  • Medical services/CATS: For quick response during emergencies and drills.
  • ATC: For quick response/timely assistance during emergency and otherwise
  • Airlines & GHA: Liaison for Fire warden training & coordination.
  • DDMA: Coordination for emergency response.
  • Delhi Police: Coordination in the event of emergencies/exercise.

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

  • AOCC: For communicating all Airport related emergencies.
  • Airside Operations: Coordination during Airport emergencies/special services.
  • Terminal Operations: Coordination during Emergencies in Terminals.
  • Landside Management: Traffic management during emergencies in city side.
  • P&E: All P&E related issues & rectification.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate preferably with science subjects.
  • BFFC/BTC from recognized training institute
  • Possess Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving License.
  • Good Computer knowledge.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Lead Firefighter.
  • Should possess good driving skill in both CFT & other specialized vehicles.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 7-8 years experience in Aviation Firefighting.
