JOB PURPOSE

This incumbent is responsible to ensure environmental legal and regulatory compliance requirements are stringently met by GHIAL at all times. He is also responsible for timely follow-up and renewal of GHIALs CFE, CFO and other applicable state pollution control board requirements on continual basis. Similarly, he is responsible to ensure GHIALs compliance to DGCA Civil Aviation Requirement on environmental protection norms. To that effect he will be responsible for timely completion of all documentation process and onward submission to the appropriate government agencies. Under the guidance of HOD, he will be responsible for IMS/ISO compliances as well as applicable process review and documentation. He will support all new projects/modifications to the existing facilities initiated by GHIAL from the environmental clearance perspective in coordination with the other internal departments. He will be responsible for managing the environmental departments inventories/equipment and closely monitor all outsourced departmental activities. He will work in close coordination with the HOD on various environmental awareness trainings, promotion programmes among the airport stakeholders. He will be responsible to conduct periodical environmental audits of all the airport stakeholders to ensure their compliance to all applicable state PCB norms. He will assist HOD in departmental functions in terms of overall administration, budget preparation & procurements, internal/external correspondence etc. .

To establish, implement and oversee compliance to statutory environmental requirements as per MoEF&CC / EC / NGT / Hon’ble SCI / DGCA – CAR / ICAO and other committed / voluntary requirements and best industry practices at Nagpur International Airport Project site, Nagpur and its all facilities involving all related stakeholders. To audit and implement all regulatory compliances, zero carbon program, etc required for Aerodrome operations, other statutory & international requirements ensuring environment friendly, compliant, passenger friendly & uninterrupted aircraft / airport operations.

Formulate and implement Environment Management Plan, Env. Quality Monitoring Program, Online Env. Monitoring Systems, Pollution Control Systems, Waste Management Plans, Resources conservation plans,  Regular Inspections and Compliance Audits for the entire airport to establish conformity with requirements to SCI Order, Environmental Clearance, Forest Clearance, CTE, CTO, PESO license, Zero Carbon Level 3+, NEERI, IGBC, DGCA CARs, ICAO Annex 14, ICAO Docs, applicable statutory rules / regulations / guidelines / conditions. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Civil/Chemical Engineering with Master Degree in Environment Engineering preferable.
  • (Or) Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering with requisite work experience in construction of infrastructural projects viz., Airports/Highways/Industries.

  • Recognized Env. certifications (ISO 14001, GRI, etc)
  • Well versed with statutory/legal provisions with respect to Environmental Compliance.
  • Working Knowledge of Airport Construction / Management.
  • DGCA CAR, Annex 14, other ICAO Service & Design manuals
  • Advance knowledge of Computers.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 15 - 20 years of work experience with minimum 5 years’ experience in Environment Compliance Management, Environmental management Plan, Environment Monitoring programs, Airport Construction/Operation, Sustainability management & practices and regulatory coordination.
