JOB PURPOSE

The AGM - Design plays a pivotal role in shaping the visual and functional excellence of airport interiors, ensuring alignment with global standards. This role is responsible for conceptualizing, strategizing, and overseeing the execution of high-quality finishes that enhance the terminal’s ambience and passenger experience. By integrating innovation, compliance, and cost-effective design solutions, the role ensures seamless project execution while maintaining aesthetic and functional integrity, to uphold excellence in airport design and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design Strategy & Concept Development

  • Develop and monitor the implementation of architectural and interior design concepts aligned with world-class airport standards & industry norms.
  • Strategize the inclusion of new elements like artwork, upgraded materials, and functional improvements.
  • Ensure conceptualization aligns with site feasibility, utilizing industry-standard software (AutoCAD 2D/3D, SketchUp, Photoshop, BIM, Lumion, Revit).
  • Establish design iteration timelines and approval cycles to streamline design processes.
  • Review and refine spatial layouts to optimize functionality, passenger flow, and commercial viability while maintaining design integrity and aesthetic coherence.
  • Review and approve detailed joinery, millwork, ceiling designs and other architectural designs to maintain consistency in finishes.

AOP, Budget & Financial Management

  • Give inputs for the AOP Preparation for the department.
  • Prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs), estimates, and specifications for procurement and execution.
  • Assess cost variations, rate analyses, and budgeting for new materials and finishes, as per the requirement.
  • Achievement of the targets defined in AOP
  • Deviation from department budget – Budgeted vs. Actuals

Planning & Execution of Finishes

  • Oversee the transition from conceptual design to approved execution plans, ensuring compliance with site constraints.
  • Guide the creation of detailed mock-ups for approved concepts to facilitate visualization and refinement.
  • Manage SAP documentation for work awards, including Non-Financial Approvals (NFAs) and other necessary approvals.
  • Design to Execution Plan Timeline Adherence
  • Mock-up Success Rate

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct design reviews for any new unit additions, ensuring alignment with established aesthetics and functional standards.
  • Monitor execution activities to prevent deviations from design standards, ensuring uniformity and quality.

Performance Metrics & Innovation

  • Set benchmarks for approval timelines, concept iterations, and specification finalization.
  • Monitor competitor initiatives and industry trends to introduce innovative design strategies.

  • 10+ Years of total experience
