The main objective of the position is to provide support to the BCM T&UI in setting up a new direction for the sustainable growth, preparing strategy plan to achieve these goals and support in implementation of the same.

Also being a Head Business Development transportation - Responsible for all bidding activities related to transportation business ie Highways and railways.

Driving strategy design, business planning and implementation

  • Robustness of the strategy and business plan

Lead  all business development planning and implementation for Transportation  through partners, alliances, growth and capability acquisition

  • No. of new business development initiatives initiated
  • No. of new business leads, prospects and new business sectors initiated
  • No. of new business forums that has been presented, new global and Indian industry association relationships built with

Maximizing Transpiration value  generation and revenues as per the requirements of the business and equity investor and in a sustainable manner

  •  Business value increase year-on-year

Stakeholder management – clients, partners, government agencies, consultants etc.

  • Client / partner satisfaction
  • Life cycle value / revenue generated from the stakeholder relationship

Support BCM in completing special assignments of strategic/tactical/operational importance and facilitate decision making

  • Number of  assignments handled
  • Satisfaction of BCM/Heads of businesses on the decisions so arrived at

  1.      Global and Indian company CEOs, CXOs and Directors who would decide on New Manufacturing Capacity Creation in our business.
  2.       Industry associations (CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, etc.) from India and abroad (JETRO, KOTRA, TEEMA, etc.)
  3.        Partners / Directors from Global Business consulting firms, Banks and Financial investment firms
  4.      CXOs and Directors, Heads of Business Development of prospective business partners


Internal - Roles you need to interact with inside the organization to enable success in your day to day work

Heads of other departments in the business – Projects, Infrastructure, Finance etc.

  1.      Heads of Business Development in other GMR Businesses
  2.       CEOs/CXOs in other GMR Businesses/Sectors
  3.      Supporting the Business Team in the development of Strategy & AOP plans and ensure the submission of monthly variance analysis to BCM  
  4.      Interactions with the Business teams and advise appropriately.


  • Won DFCC Project  in  2016-2017 of  INR 2350 Crs along with partner TPL.


  • Should have handled team of  at least 4 members.
  • Should have handled project of min 2000 crs.


  • Civil Engineering with finance management /executive management


  • Min 15 years in infrastructure companies in Business Development and strategy.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in CEO/Chairman office for managing and implement of INR 2000-3000 cr business size
