JOB PURPOSE

Lead the Airport Development and Project Management Consultancy business of GMR Airports Sector, by defining the annual & strategic business objectives, providing oversight & direction to all business operations, reviewing performance to meet internal expectations and customer requirements in order to create long-term sustainable value for the organization. Lead the new business development activities within the guidelines defined by the GDMD, Business Chairman and GHB.

Implementing the Strategic & Annual operating plan for GADL
Provide operational and business inputs (what markets to focus on, where we should build our capabilities etc.) into the strategic business plan creation. 
Draft and present the AOP based on the strategic plan with guidance from GDMD.
Roll out the AOP to department heads and review the targets periodically to ensure the AOP targets are delivered as per commitments.

New business development
Identify new business opportunities within the parameters provided by the GDMD, BCM and GHB. 
Recommend partnerships, target geographies, airports & service offerings in line with the Asset-Light, Asset Right approach
Support the sector team in new airport acquisitions 
Carry out due diligence to ensure possible business risks are factored, financial model is well supported etc.
Present business case to GDMD. BCM /GHB for final bid for new project bidding

Review the overall project plan for new and ongoing projects. 
Review performance against time, quality and cost parameters
Generate insights on course corrections that would balance long-term and short-term objectives. 
 
Implementation of the projects as per defined timelines and cost.
Develop a capable and motivated workforce, which would deliver the  organizational goals
Ensure proper staffing in consultation with business leaders and HR team. 
Give inputs to HR team on initiatives to attract, recruit and retain talent. Institutionalize suitable learning, rewards and recognition systems. 
Create the right atmosphere for the team by mentoring, coaching and empowering them. 
At senior levels, ensure collaborative working and right leadership behaviors.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

    A Bachelors/ Masters degree in Engineering. Management education would be an added advantage.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

At least 20-25 years’ experience in Project Management of large size projects with P&L responsibilities, with deep understanding of the consultancy business value chain and strong service orientation. Experience in airport projects & international exposure would be an added advantage.
