JOB PURPOSE

Chartered accountant with 18+ years’ experience and having strong technical knowledge of Ind-AS/IFRS and ability to manage consolidation of listed entity having more than 150 subsidiaries, joint ventures. This person is expected to play an active role in the finance function as well as assist the CFO in M&A, fund raising activities. Further the person should be able to handle statutory audit, audit issues of subsidiaries/JVs, implementation of new accounting standards at group level, implementation of consolidation tools (like Hyperion, OneStream, BPC), accounting matters of acquisition/disposal of JVs/Subsidiaries, impairments, fair valuation etc,. In addition to consolidation at parent level the person should also manage the consolidation at sector level which includes (Airport, Highway, Energy, U&I). The person should also have international exposure as it require interaction with International Partners and their auditors.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. GIL Consolidation
  • Manage the Group’s financial reporting obligations, with responsibility for preparation and review of compliant full year /half year/quarterly consolidated accounts and standalone financials as per the requirement of SEBI and Companies Act 2013. Total number of subsidiaries/JVs are more than 150
  • Strong understanding of Ind-AS/IFRS
  • Manage relationships with others across the Group to achieve alignment in key business strategies and decisions
  • Presenting financial information to promotors, senior executives, stakeholders, Audit committee and board members
  • Prior experience in handling fair valuation/impairment testing.
  • Establish and Implement financial reporting system including new accounting standards in GMR Group and provide training to sector finance team
  • Collaborate, design, implement and review finance systems, policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and contemporary relevant practices.
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff (7-8), including GM, AGM, Managers and financial assistants.
  • Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.
  • Ensure reporting functions and responses to ad hoc requests for financial related information are appropriately delivered.
  1. Accounting Advisory to Airport, Energy, Highway, U&I, EPC and other Sectors
  • Handle all technical accounting matter and complex accounting issues in Airport, Energy, Highway, EPC, U&I and close the same with the statutory auditors. Key accounting issues includes financial instruments accounting, Impairment, consolidation, business combination (merger/demerger) JV accounting, forex, business combination, fair valuation, litigations etc
  1. GAL Consolidation (statutory reporting)
  • Manage the Airport sector financial reporting obligations, with responsibility for preparation and review of compliant full year /half year/quarterly consolidated accounts financials as per the requirement of Companies Act 2013. Total number of subsidiaries and JVs 30+
  • Strong understanding of Ind-AS/IFRS
  • Coordinate with auditors for closure of audit of Holding Company, subsidiaries and JVs
  • Handling all complex valuation related matters for equity valuation, Impairment milestone valuation.
  • Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information
  • Establish and Implement financial reporting system including new accounting standards in Airport sector and provide training to sector finance team
  • Collaborate, design, implement and review finance systems, policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and contemporary relevant practices
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff (2-3), including Managers and financial assistants
  • Ensure reporting functions and responses to ad hoc requests for financial related information are appropriately delivered.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Additional Details

  1. GIL MIS Consolidation
    • Timely delivery of monthly consolidation of GIL
    • Present MIS to management.
    • Coordinate with sector team on timely closure of monthly consolidation
    • Collaborate, design, implement and review finance systems, policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and contemporary relevant practices
    • Provide key financial information and accounting issues to senior management timely
  1. GAL MIS (ADP Reporting)
    • Consolidation of AOP as per the format prescribed by ADP
    • Regular Interaction with ADP management and consolidation team in Paris on GAL consolidated budget, forecast, financial information
    • Monthly consolidations of GAL financial performance for GAL and ADP on 15st day of every month
    • Consolidation of annual/monthly budgets in BPC
    • Highlight key issues in advance to management
    • Provide support to ADP for closure of their annual audit.
  1. Statutory, Tax audit
  • Liaison with statutory auditor, tax auditor, internal auditor to close complex issues and get the audit done with in the timelines for GIL and GAL
  1. ADP Statutory audit as per International standards
  • Interaction with ADP statutory auditor (EY Paris and Deloitte Paris) and ADP Management to  provide support to close the audit of GAL for December 31, each year as per International Financial reporting standard and international standard of auditing
  1. Demerger/merger Support
  • Have good understanding accounting related matter on demerger/merger
  • Have good experience in preparation of carve out (demerge) and merge financials
  • Interaction with consultants for finalization of accounting treatment in compliance with accounting standards for scheme of arrangements.
  1. Fund raising (IPO/QIP/Bonds)
  • Have experience in complying with the financial information required for fund raising purpose to bankers’ lawyers, investors, auditors.
  •  Have good understanding on handling offer document related information.
  • Coordinate with bankers/lawyers/auditor on Comfort letter and arrangement letters

  • Provide training to team on Ind AS
  • Build team and individual capability, ensuring personal effectiveness for work in current and future roles.
  • Support team meetings at which progress against KPIs is monitored and discussed.
  • Having good exposure on Consolidation tools implementation like Hyperion, OneStream, BPC
  • Support Company in developing and maintaining accounting policy manual

  • Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountant of India

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 15+ years of experience in consolidation of financial statement of listed entities, Ind AS/IFRS, MIS, Valuation and should have handled fund raising activities.
  • The person should also have international exposure as require interaction with ADP management and their auditors.
  • Significant accounting experience (Ind AS/IFRS/US GAAP), including experience in a similar level role.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading & managing an operational team and a practical understanding of contemporary people management practices
  • Prior specialization in financial reporting &/or audit.
  • Prior experience in leading financial process improvement and project management.
  • Prior experience in handling merger, demerger, fund raising assignments.
  • Proven ability to understand key financial variables in a complex and changing environment.
  • Proven ability to meet statutory obligations.
  • Prior experience in handling international assignments including consolidation as per IFRS with EY Toronto.
