JOB PURPOSE

To develop and implement Project Safety Management systems and Ensure compliance of all Safety requirements at construction sites with zero Accidents and Incidents.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Develop Project safety Process/Manual take management approval and roll out.
  • Implementation of the Safety and Health Policy, Standard Working Procedures
  • Preparation for safety plans and Hazard Identification & Risk assessment for new projects.
  • Implementation of OSHAS 18001 (Occupational, Health & safety) Management Systems.
  • Responsible to conduct IMS internal Audits for HSE compliance and ensure no NCRs during external audits.
  • Implementation of Operational Safety management Systems.
  • Safety Policy, Plans, Objectives and Aims.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment sheets
  • Safety Statistics / Incident Rate / Frequency rate.
  • Nonconformance reports
  • Develop project Safety Training Manual to be rolled out to all construction contractors.
  • Promoting safety awareness to employees and workers for prevention of injury and damage to property.
  • Responsible for certifying the Personal Protective equipment for both internal and external staff members.
  • Certification of contractors, safety plan & temporary protection, Scaffolding and staging drawing on safety parameters.
  • Monitoring Air, water & Noise qualities are within the permissible limits.
  • Responsible to assure that materials, equipment and tools brought on to the site meet minimum safety & environmental standards.
  • Training Records and awareness campaigns photographs

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Management report on compliance to Safety.
  • Responsible for regular site inspections.
  • Incident management which includes  inspection, root cause analysis and evidence collection & proposed corrective & preventive actions
  • Attending site safety committee meetings and site safety co-ordination meetings.

 

  • MIS
  • Inspection reports and Site Safety Observations
  • CAPA reports.
  • Site review meeting minutes and follow ups

 

  • Complying legal requirements and other statutory requirements.        
  • Implementation of any Audit system requirements from time to time ( any recognized certifications)
  • Safety formats / Audit observations  and findings
  • Non – conformance Reports

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

•To interact with Client, Stake holders, consultants, Contractors, Environment experts, PCB, Lead Auditors, Equipment vendors and all government agencies ( Mining, Electrical, Revenue & Environment departments) & CISF.

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

User departments, Cross functional teams like ARFF, TOPS, AOCC & Operations Safety members, Senior management etc..

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

•Project cost varying from 800-1000 Crores

OTHER DIMENSIONS

•Handle a team of 4 employees.
•Multiple vendors and their work force ( 700-800 members)

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelors degree in engineering
•Graduate diploma in construction safety Management (NICMAR) / NEBOSH Certification is preferable.
•OHSAS 18001:2007 Lead Auditor Certificate, IMS Internal Audit Certifications.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

•18-20 years of experience in the construction industry, Heavy engineering industry, Public Utility buildings, Oil refineries, Power plants etc..
