JOB PURPOSE

To Lead Design Team to Deliver Optimal and Cost Efficient design solutions for new developments / Modifications / Expansions of RGIA in line with Master plan, Designs Standards, Design Manuals and in Compliance to Regulatory requirements.

To lead Design Process i.e. to Initiate, Conceptualize, Develop, Review and Approve In House Designs and External designs from external Consultants and Concessionaires submission in adherence to Master plan, Designs Standards, Design Manuals and in Compliance to Regulatory requirements. Implement Design Standards, Processes & Procedures during Design Development to ensure zero non-compliance.

Continuously and at the onset of new & proposed developments.

Alignment of new Developments & Designs initiatives in line with Master plan.

As per Business needs and Operational Requirements.

Review and Approve In House & third parties design for all new developments.

Within 7 working days and In line with Master plan, Manuals.

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

  • Manage expectations of external stakeholders i.e. CISF, Immigration, Customs, BCAS etc. from the project.
  • Responsible for developing the project plan, ensuring review and sign-offs with the stakeholders i.e. CISF, Immigration, Customs, BCAS etc.
  • Communicate with stake holders i.e. CISF, Immigration, Customs, and BCAS etc. for project progress and developments.
  • Coordinate with government and relevant Authorities i.e. AAI, Notified Area Committee, Survey of India as per the project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance of statutory obligations as required by law or regulatory guidelines is met by all agencies (Concessionaires, Contractors, and Consultants) involved in the project execution.

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

  • Manage and Deliver expectations of User Departments from the project.
  • Preparation of project proposals, feasibility analysis, project planning presentations to internal teams.
  • Communicate with internal teams for project progress and developments.
  • Communicate / escalate conflicts, risks and challenges and handle appropriately.
  • Conduct design briefings, budget & cash-flow, Techno / Commercial review of Bids & Review project contracts.
  • Finalization of design, specifications and all material approvals.
  • Direct and manage production of designs, drawings and specifications.
  • Review design & drawings, specifications, materials and equipments for potential conflict with other disciplines.
  • Coordinate the architectural designs with structural & MEP and IT services
  • Provide technical advice on methods and procedures resulting from the construction process; responsible for issuing Working Drawings.
  • Review on functionality and overall compliance with Client’s requirement
  • Review on local practice and compliance with local statutory requirements
  • Managing and monitoring of outsourced design sub-consultants and external consultations.
  • Ensure compliance of security, Safety & Environment and general housekeeping provisions for the project.
  • Identify and implement value engineering opportunities at the conceptual stage as well as execution stage.
  • Conduct periodic stage evaluation (phase wise learning) and project evaluation towards the end of the project and reporting into organization’s  database / knowledge repository
  • Employee development through mentoring and motivating sub-ordinates and mapping employee aspirations

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

  • Should have work experience in Design Management & Project Management and Coordination for Public Utility buildings, Commercial projects, Infrastructure Projects, Corporate Institutional Buildings with project cost of 400 - 500 crores Indian Rupees.

OTHER DIMENSIONS

  • Should have handled a Design Team of minimum 8 -10 persons.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
  • Diploma Course in Management.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Overall 20-25 Years of Project Management / Design Management experience, preferable in an Airport Project.
  • Minimum 10 years as specific design management experience and a minimum 5 years as Design Head.
