JOB PURPOSE

The transportation linkage between the airport and local city level/ regional activities is a vital and extremely critical
component of Airport system.
To plan and facilitate execution of ground access infrastructure projects that support development and operation
of airport and airport serving facilities and Integration of the same with the regional master plans and
transportation plans involving a large number of internal and external stakeholders.
As Manager of the ground access – position is responsible for preparation and implementation of the long term
ground access plan for GVIAL Airport, taking into account the demand generated by future cargo terminal, and
upcoming commercial areas; This covered various land side infrastructure inside GVIAL premises

Providing safe, efficient road connectivity to the airport that serves requirements of  Airport Passenger demand of 100 mppa and 3 million tonnes per annum by 2036 for different vehicular modes - getting an action plan made at Govt. level with priorities given to individual projects with timelines

  • Execution of Balance Works of Northern Access Road
  • Planning 2nd phase of NSG signal
  • Improvement of Radisson Junction
  • Planning Shiv Murti Junction
  • Underpass at Hanuman Temple
  • Improvement of Mehrauli - Mahipalpur Road
  • Mahipalpur bypass - from Ryan International junction to Shiv Murti Junction on NH 8
  • Grade Separation at Mahipalpur Junction

Landside Planning – Internal Circulation

Preparation of  plans for development of seamless connectivity as per the traffic demand for

  • Passenger terminals and its associated buildings
  • Cargo Terminals and its associated buildings,
  • Commercial Development Areas such as hospitality districts (aero city),
  • Office buildings of various stakeholders (CISF, Customs, BCAS, AAI, Police, Post Office, Utility buildings, Flight Kitchens, JVs, Store Rooms)
  • Advising and working out best possible solutions to issues pertaining to traffic circulation
  • Key area of involvement include:
    • Forecourt management
    • Terminal access roads
    • Car Parking areas
    • Critical junctions
    • Bus pick up and drop off areas
    • Public transport centers
    • Taxi staging and hold up areas
    • Metro Stations & shuttle services

Airport Master Plan

Revision of Airport Master plan - Landside and Ground Access

Data collection

Master plan of Traffic circulation master plan for CPD land parcels

Civil Engineer with PG degree in Transport Planning from a reputed college, having at least 10 years experience
(post qualification) in diverse field of Infrastructure development - covering roads, highways, expressways,
bypasses, metro rail, BRTS, airports, bridges, ROBs, truck terminals, station areas, transport hubs, multi level car
parks, SEZ, ports etc – The wide spectrum of fields can include preparation of Master Plans, Transport Infrastructure
Development plans, Regional & Urban road network development plans - covering aspects of policy planning,
analysis and forecasting, traffic engineering & transport planning, road financing, road safety; urban transport, road
and rail based mass transit systems, non-motorized transport, and travel demand management. Preparation of
Road development Master Plans, Perspective Transport Development Plans, and Network Prioritization studies.
Involvement in preparation of DPR of sections of National Highways, State Highways, PMGSY roads many of which
were on PPP format; and cross-border transport; private sector participation in transport including public-private
partnerships can be added advantage;

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • BE/ B Tech with PG in Transport Planning

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

15+ years of relevant work experience (after completion of PG Degree) in handling projects with respect to roads, highways, expressways, bypasses, metro rail, BRTS, airports, bridges, ROBs, truck terminals, station areas, transport hubs, multi-level car parks, SEZ, ports etc.
