JOB PURPOSE

Lead the Legal function for Hydro Energy Business, Advice on Transaction Documentation, strategize and manage major litigations, provide advice on legal and regulatory aspects of all strategic issues and contractual obligations in order to mitigate risks under the Group legal framework and ensure that the Hydro vertical is fully compliant of all regulatory and legal requirements and that the progress of projects & functions of various departments are not jeopardized.

Key Performance Indicators

Litigation Management relating to Bajoli Holi, Upper Karnali & Badrinath Hydro Projects.

Develop and implement strategies to manage or resolve critical litigations to ensure effective closure and reduce costs.

Manage various litigations and assess their impact on various projects for existing or proposed.

Advice on Transaction Documentation

Take timely steps to hasten disposal of matters which affects projects or incurs huge costs

Contracts Management

Apprise the Senior Management on compliance to contractual obligations and risks under the legal framework and advice on the impact as well as provide solutions to mitigate such risks.

Regulatory and Legal Compliance

Set up systems for monitoring and report on the status of compliances.

Ensure continuous monitoring and implement process improvements for effective compliance.

Team Management

Develop and manage a dynamic team of legal professionals in order to ensure that the legal issues are effectively closed and act as a business partner.

Number of litigations successfully resolved.

No. of Documents executed

Reduction of time cycle for critical litigations.

Effective MIS and reports.

Percentage Compliance to all regulatory and legal frameworks for Energy business.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation (LLB) or post-Graduation in Law (LLM)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Diverse Corporate Litigation experience spanning a period of about 12 to 15 years in various Judicial and Regulatory Bodies.
About 6 to 10 years as in house Counsel for Infrastructure, Power or similar Industries.
