JOB PURPOSE

Junior Manager – Accounts (Power Trading), responsible for managing day-to-day payment processing and accounting entries in SAP, along with timely statutory payments and return filings for TDS, GST etc. The role supports fund position reporting, MIS preparation, and tracking of Bank Guarantees (BGs), Letters of Credit (LCs), and Fixed Deposits (FDs). It also involves monthly closing activities including inter-company reconciliations, provisioning, unbilled revenues and accruals, posting of payments entries for bank reconciliations. The incumbent will handle vendor reconciliations, maintain revenue and transmission charge trackers, and assist in statutory, internal, and tax audits through preparation of audit-ready documentation and supporting schedules.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Payments-

Timely & accurate payments on daily/periodic basis (Vendor payments, Group Company Fund Transfers, TDS payments, GST payments and Other Statutory payments in line with business requirements and management directions.

Reporting of daily fund position, preparation of daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly payment tracker/MIS, preparation of bank guarantees/LCs, co-ordination with Group Treasury team, investments in MF/FDs.

Preparation of Power Revenue tracker and Open Excess (Transmission charges) tracker for monthly and quarterly financial preparation.

Ensure timely and accurately monthly closing of books of accounts, consisting all the activities including provisions, unbilled revenues and accruals, inter-company balance reconciliations, vendor balance reconciliations, vendor open line items clearing, GR/IR clearing etc.

  • % vendor, statutory, and inter-company payments processed within the stipulated timelines
  • Power Revenue Tracker and Open Access Transmission Charges Tracker submitted monthly

Entries in SAP -

Booking of liabilities in SAP and posting payment entries in SAP and Inter-company reconciliation on daily basis.

Thorough scrutiny and analysis of all vendor GLs, Bank GLs, liabilities booked, expenses incurred, payments made etc. on monthly basis.

Vendor ledger reconciliation on weekly / monthly basis.

Obtaining of all bank balances and loan balances and respective confirmation from all the banks and other parties for monthly closing.

Obtaining of vendor balance confirmation from all the vendors for monthly closing.

Preparation of data for quarterly Board Presentation, AOP reviews and other management requirements.

  • 100% booking of liabilities and payment entries in SAP within 2 working days of invoice/approval
  • All vendor, bank, and loan GL scrutiny completed monthly.

TDS–

Preparation of TDS workings/reconciliation, payment of TDS on monthly basis, TDS return filing on quarterly basis, TDS certificates generation and issuance to parties.

Preparation of power purchase tracker/working to ensure accurate booking of power purchase invoices/provisioning.

Preparation of other workings, details, templates as per the requirements of the Sector / Group / Management

  • TDS payments completed by the statutory due date with 100% compliance
  • TDS certificates issued to vendors within 10 days of quarter-end

Statutory Audit, IFCR Audit, Internal Audit, Tax Audit –

To provide workings, supporting documents, all banks Balance confirmations, loan statements, treasury reports etc. required for statutory audits, internal audits, IFCR audits, Tax audits.

AOP Vs Actuals analysis of expenses / liabilities.

  • Audit requests submitted within 3 working days of request
  • All audit closure timelines met as per audit calendar without escalations

Key Performance Indicators: Accurate and timely completion of all the activities to ensure timely monthly and quarterly books closing and financials preparation as per Sector / Corporate timelines / guidelines. Compliance with Statutory requirements. Timely MIS reporting. Timely closure of statutory and internal audits on quarterly basis.

 

  • Day to day payments and passing entry in SAP for such payments
  • Reporting of daily fund position, payment tracker, preparation of MIS

  • Support in quarterly statutory and internal audits and tax audits – providing vouchers and documents to auditors, preparation of workings for audit purpose

  • Any other work as per the management requirements.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

CA or B. Com (H) with 5-8 yrs of post qualification experience.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

3-5 years of experience in Energy Sector (domain function).
