JOB PURPOSE

The Project Engineer – MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of MEP systems in infrastructure projects. This role ensures that all MEP installations are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Conceptualize projects based on briefings provided by the user (operations/retail/commercial).
  • Develop preliminary design and project budget
  • Review designs , specifications and project cost estimates and provide recommendations to HOD for decision making
  • On time completion of design development
  • Approval for implementation of the project
  • Support procurement for vendor identification (pre-qualification and technical evaluation)
  • Plan various stages of project, develop progress reporting mechanism
  • Review contractors, QA & QC plan and design submissions as per the terms of contract
  • Construction supervision of all projects (HVAC, PHE, Firefighting.) ensuring all quality parameters are met by the vendor. Conduct all tests and inspections as per the industrial standards.
  • Monitor the progress, track the deliverables, report early signs of probable delays to the HOD and recommend remediable actions
  • Assist HOD and P&C in change management (omissions and additions)
  • Measurement and certification of vendor’s, payment requests, running account bills.
  • Project quality test
  • On-time completion of the project within +/- 5% of the budget
  • Assist in Handing over of project to Client with required documentation, providing support to operation team in initial period to stabilize the operation.
  • Contract Closure: Assist Procurement and Contract team in closing out the contracts
    • Acceptance by Client/operation team, stabilization of system for maximum output as per the service levels, contract closure.
  • Understand latest practices, products/systems in the industry and recommend for implementation within the organization
  • Train the foreman to maintain the property post construction
    • Adopt new technology.

  • Interaction with Contractor’s Construction & Quality team on daily basis is necessary to resolve issues.
  • Fire authorities, PESO, Customs, immigration, securities, Consultants, designers, architects and business advisors, Contractors and suppliers

  • Interaction with Project Construction team to support the technical / engineering concern of project

  • Worked in the project with Mechanical works Capex up to 20.00 Cr

  • Handle a team of 2 - 4 engineers
  • Handle Multiple vendors and stakeholders

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • BE/B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 9-11 years of work experience in Construction QA/QC field achieved in Airport Building, Highway & Bridge.
