JOB PURPOSE

  1. Safeguard and enhance the reputation of brand GMR
  1. Develop relationships with media personnel including CoBs and Editors of national media across locations
  2. Strategise media communication plans keeping business requirements in view
  3. Crisis communication
  4. Develop a clear concept and understanding of the businesses, media, and, stakeholder management
  5. The person should also have proficiency in English language and flair in writing for business communications, projecting the strengths of the business and underplaying the weaknesses as and when required

Media Management

 

  • Relationship building through regular media visits
  • Gather media intelligence
  • Entertain media personnel
  • Regularly update media representatives about business developments
  • Educate media on business complexities
  • Change the tonality of adverse news

Media Events (Press Conferences/Press Meet/Media Visits to Project Launches)

 

  • Plan and execute Press Conference/Press Meets/ Media Interactions/ Media visits etc.
  • Take necessary management approvals
  • Facilitate one-to-one interaction with spokespersons, if required
  • Ensure wide coverage post event
  • Work in synergy with Digital/ Social Media team

Media content and communications skills:

 

  • Draft media releases/ whitepapers/ story pointers/ management statements
  • Prepare media briefing document
  • Gather inputs and draft responses to media queries
  • Take necessary approvals from Head-Media Relations/ GCCO/ CEO/ BCMO/ GCMO as per SOP
  • Ensure maximum coverage

Media Interaction:

 

  • Organise periodical media interaction with Sr Management
  • Take approvals from Sr. Management for interaction as per calendar
  • Review talking points for Sr. Management/DIAL/GMR Airports/ GMR Group Spokespersons

Database management and Media Analysis:

 

  • Manage media lists
  • Create and update story banks
  • Review reports on news analysis (newspaper, magazines, online etc.),
  • Competition mapping
  • Production of reports

Crisis Communication skills:

  • Ability to work for long working hours during crisis situation
  • A go-getter to proactively prepare management statement/ Press Release under the guidance of Head - Media Relations
  • Work in synergy with Social Media team
  • Re-evaluate existing content & campaigns under the guidance of Head Media Relations.

  • Prepare case studies on major campaigns
  • Identify opportunities for awards/ speaker placement
  • Prepare periodic reports and review PPTs

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters/PGD in Journalism/Media Communication/Marketing/Public Relations from a reputed institute

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience working in reputed corporates, PR agencies, or national media houses
