JOB PURPOSE

Provide operational support to Operational Commander at satellite stations (station 2&station 4) to implement all SOPs & contingency plans for the Rescue and Firefighting related airport emergencies at the IGI Airport as per DGCA CAR.

The Operations Commander is responsible for leading and managing all day-to-day operational aspects of the ARFF department as per ICAO  , DGCA & NFPA Guidelines  . This role ensures full compliance with national and International aviation fire safety standards and regulations, oversees incident response readiness, manages shift personnel, and ensures effective coordination during emergencies. The Operations Commander also plays a critical role in training, mentoring, and evaluating ARFF staff.

Ensure the safety of the staff as well as the appliances/equipment during airport emergencies No of incidents reported
Coordinate with different departments during airport emergencies for the effective rescue and firefighting.

Implement fire safety standards, conduct fire safety audit of all buildings and shops at DIAL and issuance of DFC (DIAL Fire Clearance) No DFC to be issued v/s actual issued

Update DAEP and DARP by periodically review

Conduct emergency drills as per Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR-DGCA).

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • BE/MI Fire or Graduate preferably with science from any recognized University
  • Senior Fire Officer Course (SFO) from any Aviation academy or equivalent Course (Divisional Fire Officer Course from NFSC Nagpur or any recognized institute).

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 12 years’ experience out of which minimum 3 years in managerial level in an Airport handling around 300 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) per day.
    Experience of minimum 8 years as station in-charge of Category 7 Airport or 5 years experience as operations commander of Category 9 Airport
