JOB PURPOSE

Administration of databases (SQL/ORACLE/DB2) to support airport applications requirements and support Universal Flight Information system application as per operational requirements

The IT Operations and projects will focus on standardizing IT applications across all GMR airports, ensuring seamless operations and integration. This role involves creating sound roadmap with business, IT, and operations teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving innovation through best practices from internal and global airports.
This position at the Sector level will support airport operations managers in the development of IT operations tools and projects across all the GMR airports. It will ensure overall consistency of IT policy & procurement process with the terms of requirements expressed by airport managers. It will ensure coordinated standardized specifications and sound development of the solutions fitting to the requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accountabilities Key Performance Indicators

Consolidation of Operational requirements:
Consolidate the needs for operations management tools, optimize and add value on terms of reference.

Avoid duplication across the airports and ensure consistency of requirements across the airport assets.
 

Coordinated terms of reference between airports
Application Standardization: Work with Business IT and Operation teams to Develop or adopt COTS and implement standardized IT applications and tools across all GMR airports to enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure all IT solutions are aligned with the operational requirements and standards set by airport managers.
 
Collaboration and Coordination: Establish and maintain regular communication with business, IT, and operations teams to ensure alignment and coordination.
Foster a collaborative environment to facilitate the sharing of best practices and innovations.
 
Development of Smart Airport operations:
Contribute to the development of Smart Airport operations solutions towards removal of progress bottlenecks and participate in the diffusion of innovation in the platforms.

-    Close interaction with vendors on various IT initiatives
-    Work closely with respective airports’ IT teams and implementing agencies for IT implementations
-    Articulate the requirements to the Procurement team and contribute to the vendor selection process
-    Proficiency in IT project management tools and software.
-    Knowledge of Airport core applications like APOC monitoring systems, AODB, ACDM, CUPSS,CUSS, real-time monitoring, and simulation tools.

 

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management or a similar role, with a focus on application standardization.
Experience in the aviation industry, particularly in airport operations, is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of IT systems, tools, and solutions used in airport operations.
 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

10 years in IT projects
2-3 years of Airport experience preferable
