JOB PURPOSE

The position is responsible to ensure compliance to safety requirement as well as drive the organization’s commitment of promoting safety culture at all Project Construction sites so as to ensure “Zero Incident, Zero Accident” at all project sites.
The GM HS&E is also responsible to ensure GMR group’s environmental obligations, as airport operator, are meticulously met as mandated by the Government of India-Pollution Control Board/Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change guidelines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Enhance stakeholder awareness on safety and environment compliance requirements through trainings, awareness sessions and campaigns
Ensure all major changes undergo ‘Management of Change’ process through meticulous safety assessment
Safety audits and inspections of internal/external agencies in line with GMR Safety Management System
EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS
All HODs of internal departments of ALD & other group organisations
INTERNAL INTERACTIONS
Consultants, auditors, assessors, regulatory inspectors, prospective business customers
FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS
Current AOP – 1000 Crore INR
Construction projects cost INR 1000 Cr spread over multiple project
OTHER DIMENSIONS
Heading the Safety & Environment department, ALD, the direct reporting team size is 2-3 and the indirect control on internal/external stakeholders team size from the safety & environment compliance point of view is approximately 2000 ( all employees engaged on Project sites)
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate preferably in Engineering stream
Post graduation in specialization in HSE from a recognized institute
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 17 years industry experience with at least 8-10 years of experience in Construction / Real estate / Industrial projects
