JOB PURPOSE

Associate Manager – Terminal Safety is responsible for supporting the Specialist – Terminal Safety in providing a safe terminal environment by conducting regular inspections of the passenger and staff movement areas, assist in conducting safety audits, risk assessments and emergency response protocols. The role drives supporting the department in creating safety awareness, incident investigation and compliance with safety regulation through stakeholder coordination and proactive risk mitigation strategies.

Terminal Audits & Inspections

  • Carry out daily audit / inspections, as planned in advance, in coordination with stakeholders and service providers, ensuring structured execution.
  • Make a note of all works in progress in terminal and carryout worksite safety audits in terminal, verifying compliance with safety norms / standards.
  • Prepare reports based on audit findings, track corrective actions, and ensure closure of non-compliances in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Terminal Safety Occurrence & Hazards Management

  • Collection and Tracking voluntary safety hazard reports, ensuring timely resolution and communication with stakeholders.
  • Maintain and continuously update a centralized terminal safety hazard database, incorporating root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and recognition (R&R) for significant hazard reports.
  • Carry out investigation of Terminal safety occurrences, preparing detailed reports with findings, recommendations, and CAPA, in coordination with Specialist -Terminal Safety.
  • Maintain database of safety occurrences to support analyze recurring issues and initiate preventive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain and continuously update a centralized safety occurrence database, incorporating root cause analysis, recommendations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), including records of ATR.
  • % of safety hazards reported are acknowledged
  • % of safety hazards reported are closed within agreed timeline in coordination with concerned agency / department

Terminal Works Management

  • Maintaining a database of all works in Terminal and close vicinity, reporting any violation of safety regulations / norms and operational safety standards.
  • Reviewing work methodology, safety plans, and risk assessments for Terminal maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Carry out Onsite Briefing for new projects and ensure their compliance.
  • Divide the terminal into Safety Zones and conduct inspections of work areas to verify adherence to safety norms, hazard control measures, and permit conditions.

Terminal Safety Trainings & Promotions

  • Documentation of Training Needs of stakeholder employees
  • Support Specialist - Terminal Safety in carrying out risk-based safety training as identified through risk assessments, buggy ops, baggage handling, housekeeping, etc. training to enhance safety preparedness.
  • Support in organizing Terminal Safety Campaigns involving all stakeholders to reinforce a strong safety culture through workshops, safety drills, and awareness initiatives.

  • Prepare and organize Quarterly Terminal Safety Committee meetings, ensuring active participation from all stakeholders.
  • Attend and maintain Minutes of Terminal Safety Committee Meeting, ensuring covering all points discussed and decision taken thereupon.
  • Monitor meeting action points, ensuring timely resolution and responsibilities across departments / agencies, discussed in the Terminal Safety Committee Meeting.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation (Preferably B.E. / B. Tech.)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 05 - 07 years of experience, with a minimum of 02 years in airport operations, preferably in safety domain.
