JOB PURPOSE

The incumbent will operate in rotational shifts, overseeing Airside operations to ensure safe and efficient aircraft movement. This role involves real-time monitoring from APOC, proactive coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and swift response during contingencies. The officer will manage field activities, project works, and operational approvals, ensuring seamless execution. A key responsibility is maintaining situational awareness and facilitating smooth communication across agencies to uphold safety, compliance, and operational continuity at all times.

Real-Time Operations Management
  • Maintain real-time communication and decision-making for dynamic operational requirements and last-minute execution changes.
  • Initiate alternate plans or Plan-B in case of unforeseen eventualities to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Coordinate in real-time for VIP movements and during emergencies to ensure seamless handling.
  • Support coordination for “Follow Me” services during high-power run-ups, VIP movements, and emergency cases.
 -Shift Reports – Tracking and analysis of incident handling and real-time coordination instances
Aerobridge and Passenger Movement Optimization
  • Maximize Aerobridge utilization to enhance passenger experience and reduce carbon emissions caused by bus movements.
 -% of Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) usage vs. Aircraft Traffic Movements (ATMs)
Resource Deployment and Airside Safety Monitoring
  • Monitor vehicle speed alerts, signal violations, aircraft proximity breaches, and unauthorized taxiway/runway entries using AI/ML tools.
  • Deploy airside enforcement officers to address safety breaches and sensitize personnel on protocol adherence.
 -Daily Reports – Number and type of safety alerts, enforcement actions taken
Baggage Area Traffic and Congestion Management
  • Monitor congestion at BMA/BBA areas and provide timely inputs to stakeholders for corrective measures.    
 -Baggage Delivery Timelines – Reporting of delays and resolution actions
Stakeholder Coordination and Field Activity Oversight
  • Coordinate in advance with internal and external stakeholders for project works, real-time approvals, and field activities.
 -MIS Reports – Number of coordinated approvals, projects handled, and field activity efficiency
Reporting, Analysis and Operational Planning
  • Generate periodic reports and conduct trend analysis for data-driven decision-making.
  • Compile dashboards and escalate issues as per defined case scenarios.
  • Prepare advance operational plans for the next cycle or day.
 -MIS Reports – Timeliness and completeness of reports
 -No. of actionable insights generated

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

  • DGCA, AAI, Fuel Farm, IMD, GHA, Airlines, Ground Handlers, CISF, Emergency services, Various Departments of the DGCA, ATC etc.,

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

  • All Internal Departments including Airside Operations, ARFF, Terminal Operations, Security and control, technical services, Protocol, Safety and environment, IT & Communications etc.

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

  • Support Head TOPS in managing the Department AOP Budget

OTHER DIMENSIONS

  • Coordinate with entire Airport dept. like CFL, ARFF, TS etc. for smooth operations of Airport shift working.
  • Coordination with various internal/external stakeholders for MIS and projects.
  • 5 direct staff reporting to Duty Manager and manage outsourced staff approx. 30 per shift 
  • Multiple outsourced manpower engaged in various operations activities

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-Graduate Degree in any discipline.  PG degree in Aviation Management will be an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of Annex 14 Advanced, ICAO annexures, ACI and relevant IATA Manuals.
  • DGR/L&T/World Tracer/Airport Planner/Path Planner will be added advantages
  • Knowledge and understanding of functioning of Airlines and Airports and requirements thereof.
  • Working knowledge of all Statutory Rules Labour, Industrial, AAI Act, Aviation Rules, Customs Act and Basic Indian Penal Codes.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 12-14 years of experience in Airside operations
  • Experience in Aviation/ Airport Sector
