JOB PURPOSE

To lead & Drive C&I maintenance function at GKEL effectively to ensure 100% availability with reliability towards effective plant performance

Accountabilities Key Performance Indicators

Operations Strategy & Implementation:--

•    Ensure  highest  availability  of the  C&I Equipment  and  Systems
•    Ensure prompt  response  to  plant  operational  needs
•    Minimize  response  time  and  ensure  optimum  mean  time  between  failure (MTBF ) and  mean  time to  repair (MTTR)
•    Carry  out breakdown  analysis and  ensuring  minimization  of  breakdown  losses.
•    Provide  expert  assistance  for  correction  and intelligent  control  system
•    Plan and implement short  term  &  long term maintenance  schedules.
 

  • Plant Availability.
  • PM Compliance.
  • Shutdown  preparedness

Operations Strategy & Implementation:--

•    To implement  measures/initiatives  for  improving  efficiency of the  C&I  equipment  in coordination with  efficiency  team, operations  team  and  maintenance  planning team.
•    Review  and  monitor  maintenance  contract activities viv-a-vis Contract;

Spares& Inventory :-

•    Regularly monitor consumption  of  C&I spares  and  consumables  and  to  keep  track  of  inventory  required  for  C&I  maintenance  activities  of  the  power  plant.
•    Provide  expertise  and  technical  assistance  in  procurement  of  spares  &  equipment .

Team Development – 

•    Enable the team  to perform  effectively  by  delegating /assisting /guiding /counseling / motivating and developing team  members.
•    Identify training  and development  needs of the team members ,  plan training schedule  and follow  up for implementation.
•    Develop and monitor key performance indicators  of the direct reportees .
•    Conduct  Performance  Review and feedback.

•    Manager EE score card.
•    Team building/ Subordinate development initiative.
•    Number  of training   days
•     EE action plan.

Ensure safety at workplace :-

•    Ensure schedule, quality ,safety are implemented in maintenance activities.
•    Ensure the implementation of all stipulated guidelines and strict adherence to the different EHS systems and Quality standards, 
•    Compliance to all audits and obtains all necessary work permits for safety.
•    Responsible for documentation related to certification for Integrated Management System.
•    Development of SMP and compliance to SMP
•    Ensuring Work execution as per OEM guidelines / good engineering practices.

Budget Planning :-

•    Planning and Obtaining budget allocation  for maintenance expenses  and  control  the expenditure  within  budget.

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Meetings with Contractors/Vendors for timely execution of the C&I works of the plant..
Coordination with owner’s engineer , external consultant ,Owner Equipment manufacturers( OEM) & suppliers. 
 

 

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Interact with Plant  head on regular basis to understand the Plant  priorities and work accordingly
Interactions with colleagues , other department heads to facilitate their needs. Daily Internal departmental meeting for the day to day works .
 

 

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

    Tracking of budget  cost and Identifying the new capital expenditure.
    AOP for C&I- O&M budget –

OTHER DIMENSIONS

    Handling of maintenance Contractor for day to day activities.
    15  engineers of  different levels .
    More than 50 contract workforce handled.
    Green field Projects Handled – 3 (Reliance Energy, Hindalco  & AES-OPGC)

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

    B.E ( Electronics & Tele-communication )or (Instrumentation )
    6 months PETS training at NPTI & other plant related short term  training.
    2 weeks of DCS  /  PLC training.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

•    22 + total years of experiences   in Coal based Thermal Power Plant.
            & having excellent motivation skills in managing the stakeholders.
•    Able to manage works in adverse working conditions.

Technical Competency                                                                                                           
1.    Must be a Subject Matter Expert in C&I domain in 
coal based  thermal power plant.                                                                                                                                                                  
 2.Shoul have in-depth knowledge in DCS, Scada, PLC,                                                                                                   
3. Conversant with System Process , logic to review & upgrade                                                                                            
4. Must to able to plan & optimize department budget with proper maintenance planning & material management.
